Cryptic tonsillitis. Search the internet for this, and see what you think. Green snot is bacterial.

If you haven't had this checked out yet, it sounds like it could be cerebrospinal fluid leaking from your cranial region, into your sinus cavities, and out your nose. You should get this looked at. (I am not any kind of medical professional. I have been researching similar symptoms. I do not believe I have this, but it sounds like you do.)

This same thing has happened to me and it started with an infected tooth that was removed by the dentist. Tooth removed 3 months ago and I am still getting this smelly snot. And at night I have a hard time breathing through my nose.

Hi all, I can empathise with all of you who have smelly noses. I was told I had Chronic Sinusitis. To cut a long story short, I've seen 7 ENT consultants coming from all over the country, consumed every anti-biotic, every nasal spray and had 2 FESS operations all over a 3 year period. Nothing helped the nasty smells, the mucus and the pain. So, I took the matter into my own hands and worked out it wasn't a bacteria infection as every consultant said...it was fungal. Googled what kills Fungal, found that alcohol does (which was the only thing I had at home at the time from what was depicted on the web). I put a few drops of White Jamaican Rum (Wray and Nephews Overproof) in my 'NeilMed Sinus Rinse' bottle mixed with bottled water (not from the tap) and squirted it up my nose. Ok, I thought I was going to die for a moment and I thought I'd totally ruined my nasal passage etc and didn't sleep well that night but when I woke up the next morning...the smell had gone, I could breathe out of both nostrils and all pains had disappeared. Some of you will be thinking about suicide because that's how bad it can make you feel. It totally ruins your life if you have it as bad as I did, as you can't socialise, you can't be close to anyone or anybody as the stench that comes out of your nose is dreadful, the taste in your mouth is foul and so on. I'm not telling anybody to do this but after 3 years of hell it's what worked for me. I'm not sure if there are any long term effects that could potentially be damaging but what I do know is that I was real desperate as I had already got my rope and was looking for places to hang it. Definitely DO NOT go down that route as there is a fix for you out there but it's just finding it. Refrain from consuming antibiotics, nasal sprays and anything else that they tell you to do for a bacterial infection as it makes it worse. If nothing is working, look at treating a fungal infection but first you may need to penetrate the bio-film that covers the infection. Good luck all.
