Something in throat?

Okay, so every once and awhile I'll get the sensation that there is something in my thoat.
I just got it now and decided enough is enough and I put my fingers down my thoat and I touched something, I have no idea what I touched and I was so scared/surprised I just started swallowing/took a drink and made it go away.

BUT I ACTUALLY TOUCHED SOMETHING. ugh.

I feel sick to my stomach now knowing I'm not imagining it, I'm not sure what it could have been.
I don't have trouble breathing, and it almost felt like it could have been me? I'm so confused.
The clinic is closed right now, and I'm scared to death of what it is... So I just wanted some kind of explanation so I can calm down.

I'm not sure if this is normal (I doubt it) and if I should be going to the hospital.
I have had the feeling that there is something in my thoat before but never ever felt for it.

Thanks in advance, I hope there is an explanation that wont keep me up all night worried to death!
