From what I've read about this, it is most likely IBS iritable bowel syndrom, or spastic colon, etc. Most likely nothing to do with having a baby, but more women have this than men. Look that up and see if these syptoms don't fit what you are feeling.

I am 44. I had a laparotomy October 2005.
Suddenly, I am experiencing nasty fluttering feelings in my lower
left abdomen. I would swear I am pregnant, although I just had my
period. I do have multiple ovarian cysts, maybe this has something
to do with it. I notice my varicose veins are darker, too.
I have no idea what is happening to me!
I hope it is not palpitations of the heart, so strong that they feel like
a baby kicking!

have similar sounding symptoms; am also male. periodic stomach fluttering (lower left) began after I had a mole removed from my chest, now a week ago. Am wondering if it's due to having to suddenly change exercise habits (to allow stitches to heal). don't think it's IBS as have no notable digestion issues. could certainly be stress-related perhaps exacerbated by the minor surgery. hoping that exercise, post-stitches will solve...

I was having the same problem and found out that I have an umbilical hernia. The flutter is a muscle spasm from the muscle tearing away from the abdomenal wall.

I have been feeling the fluttering as well. My daughter says I am crazy. I have had 5 vaginal births and my baby is 13 years young. I have had a tubal in 1996. I always think I am preganant but know it is not possible beings I had a tubal (correct)

I have the same thing.... but mine tends to be more painful with cramping at times. I had a c-section 16 months ago, so I was thinking it could be my muscles shifting as I lose weight. I wish someone had a definitive answer, just so I know nothing in wrong. I'm going in for an exam soon.

Oh boy!!! I thought I was going crazy myself. I am a mother of 3 children with my middle child being the culprit for a c-section in 1991. I then had vaginal childbirth in 1996 and than an abdomanalplasty in 2007. I had no idea that those surgeries could have possibly been related to the flutterings I have recently been getting! It feels just like a baby. I wish they would stop! I mean its nice if you know its a real baby.. but since its not, I just wish it would go and never come back! They are so irritating! any cures for whatever is causing these sensations?

I'm sure that this is a joke but it doesn't sound like they have been suffering with chronic stomach spasms based on simple indigestion. I think more what it could be is anything from vitamin deficiency (which you'd take vitamin E for) to something like IBS or Crohn's Disease.

Thank goodness I am not the only one to experience this. I am 46 yrs old and also had a c-section but that was 20 yrs ago. I havent had any surgery in the past 6 yrs and I am having the twitching and fluttering in my lower abdomen. I can feel it with my hands when they are put on my abdomen. I have had my tubes tied for 13 yrs now and my husband also has a vasectomy so I know it isnt a baby. It has been going on for over a month now and is driving me nuts, there is no pain involved but it is off and on all day, everyday. I have an appt next week at the doctors to see if he can diagnose it. If anyone on here has had a definite diagnosis or knows how to get rid of this, I would appreciate a reply, I'll snap if this keeps up!! Thanks for any help or information that could be offered.

I'm having the same thing, flutterings on lower left side of tummy below the solar plexis, not painful, very irritating. I'm 22, never had a kid, do have fybromyalgia and arthritis, and intestinal problems as well. Boyfriend thought it weird when I had him touch that spot.

Wow! I was so glad I am not alone. I began feeling the sensation today, very strong even seeing my belly move at times. I am 5 1/2 months post partum from a c-section delivery. I have been so concerned today with the movement. I mentioned it to my husband when he got home from work and he could even feel it, which freaked him out a lil lol. Think I can sleep better tonight knowing I am not alone. Thank you everyone!

I'm glad to see I am not alone. I have two girls but I had both of my vaginally. I have an IUD installed for birth control and it is due to come out in June. I do not know what it is. It is not annoying to me, it just frightened me that I might be pregnant, and with an IUD that could mean bad news for the baby. I will keep looking and if I find something I will let you know. I do not think it has anything to do with a surgery because I have never had any kind of surgery. Hope someone figures something out.
