Okay, brief history: I've never been able to swallow pills, and always had sensitivity to taste/texture in my mouth. Also always had acid reflux and IBS issues. I lived with it.
So I had really bad issues swallowing a while back (2007) and ended up in the hospital because i couldn't eat/drink - had tests done (swallowing study, barium stuff, endoscopy, etc etc) and they found nothing. Doctor called it an "eating disorder" and went on a spiel about my parents needing to watch me so i don't purge (which is utterly ridiculous because i abhor vomiting) so I sought a second opinion. Second doctor (my current primary) found very little but turns out i had severe allergies to a lot of things that i was in contact with on a daily basis. She chalked the swallowing stuff up to allergies (had no other explanation). I got better (though still had some issues with swallowing dry stuff like bagels or slippery stuff like pasta - never bothered me too much though).
Then about a month ago i had another episode where it started again - it felt like it was a strain to swallow and then eventually felt as if something was trying to "come up" while i swallowed.... ended up nauseous and unable to eat/drink for a good 24 hours. It went away. Last week it happened again and this time i was unable to eat/drink for two days due to nausea and stomach pain. Now it seems like i can't eat a lot at once (by a lot i mean a serving of something) without it feeling like a strain and my throat also feels a bit achy.
Any ideas? Obviously will go to the doctor if it doesn't get better but looking for any hints.
