This has happened to me too! My boyfriend has had a visectimy (sp?) in the past and both don't have any STDs, so we have unprotected e! I don't know if having sex is just confusing my system? They look reddish sex. I haven't had my period in a long time... like 3 months but I'm irregular anyways! Just in case I went to the clinic recently and tested negatively for pregnancy (which I figured because of the visectimy) but I still haven't had my period...

Now recently... these same fleshy things are coming out of me pink, with the partially clear membane just as everyone else has described... I have no pain down there or anything out of the ordinary like that so I don't know what to think either :-( And I don't know who to ask or what to do about it.

This has just happened to me also. I just started taking the pill and am finishing up my third cycle. The first two periods I got, I had no problems with this. Then with this third one, I have had similar tissue clumps come out. Some are really small and small are larger (quarter sized). I have been cramping but nothing that seems out of the ordinary. I have not been sexually active so I know that I was not pregnant. How others have described it sounds very similar to mine...membrane-y, liver texture, etc. However, mine is always dark, blood red. Not light colored like some others have said. This has really started to freak me out today. Does anyone have any answers? Should I go see a doctor or is this just part of starting the pill? Before I started the pill, I had not gotten my period in a long time. Is this just my body cleaning out the old uterine lining? Any help/answers would be really appreciated!

I realize that this is a pretty old post, but I just wanted to mention that what y'all are experiencing could be parts of what is known as a "decidual cast." It seems to be especially common in women who are currently on birth control pills.

http://www.ispub.com/ostia/index.php?xmlFilePath=journals/ijgo/vol9n1/cast.xml has a lot of information and pictures of full decidual casts (might not want to click if you're squeamish).

Googling "decidual cast" can bring up a lot of other info.

Of course, I'm not a doctor--just sharing some information that might be helpful.

I Have always gotten these jelly-like red "clots". I got them before I ever was on birth control and during the time I was as well. Sometimes they are very large(bigger than a quarter) and I have to "push" them out. I always thought they were "clots". Thank you for referring me to "dicidual cast".
I will ask my doc now that I know there is something different about them. Also, birth control may be common in most but I started getting them way before the pill or being sexually active.

Many women also notice shedding of the endometrium lining that appears as tissue mixed with the blood. Sometimes this is erroneously thought to indicate an early-term miscarriage of an embryo. Don't worry!

Well, Average menstrual clots should be about the size of a dime or a little bigger. If clots are bigger than a quarter you should see a doctor. This could be caused by sexual activity or lack of nutrients. This is definitely not normal.

I have been passing the same kind of fleshy tissue everyone described and I found out yesterday I have a mass in my cervix and mult cyst on my ovaries.I have to have something called a d&c I'm scared.this all started like six months ago and every month it gets bigger and hurts more to past each time.I've been on the nuva ring for almost three years maybe that's what caused it IDK.

ive just finished my first month on the contraceptive pill microginem, and the exact same thing happend to me. I was so scared because i had no idea what it was. the same sack like tissue, some clear bits, some white, and quite rubbery and thick. i was in a huge amount of pain the night before, i usualy get bad period pains, but this was unreal.very weird. but i was haveing normal periods before i started the pill 30 days ago, and this was my first break. I have decided to come off, as i have also been suffering with emotional problems since starting the pill. Im going to go to the doctors on Tuesday and will post back any news. Wanted to say thanks to the ppl posting on here, as it has really helped knowing im not the only one. thank you

i have just been experiencing the same effects (just this very minute actually - it freaked me out enough to immediately look it up online before a visit to the doctor tomorrow) i never ever ever have pinkish and brownish discharge at any time during my period. it is a heavy flow right from the get go. yesterday it was extremely light and then today it was about the same until around 3pm i started to bleed extremely heavily, so at first i was thinking i am (for some weird reason) just having a most unusual period (which can still be the case i suppose). so i inserted a tampon. i slept for most of the afternoon and early evening because the pain from the cramping was overtly ridiculous. i woke up and changed my tampon about 20 minutes ago. and (not to really be disgusting) but i put on a medical glove and analyzed my "clotting" before i flushed. there were minimal blood clots to my surprise. quite a bit of brown and pink discharge. and shockingly some clearish, greyish membrane-like "tissue" (for lack of a better term). also in small amounts, but enough to freak me out. i know during my periods i tend to clot heavily anyway, but i have NEVER EVER seen this before! also, I AM NOT ON ANY FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL, like most of you in this forum. i was unsure if i was pregnant or not, and was trying to determine if i was undergoing implantation bleeding or experiencing an abnormal period. i was going to take a urine pt tomorrow morning to get a more accurate result. and now i am just thinking i will just make a doctor appt. anyway, but in the meantime, does anyone know WHAT is going on with my body?

hi guys - first off RELAX dont all go rushing to your doctors.

I used to be on norethisterine which delays your period - when i stopped taking this and had my first cycle, i experienced this thick fleshy skaly blood dotted thing also - i was concerned so spoke to my mother and a family GP to which i was relieved to be told this was perfectly NORMAL. let me explain, when you take the pill, it is designed to flush out your womb - ergo gets rid of excess skin in the wall - this often happens and can be misread and can cause a huge amount of panic. I also had this when i took the pill it didnt happen often but like you it scared me the first time it happened - just connect the dots and go with what makes sense - all i will tell you is this is NOT early miscarriage - of that i can assure you!!

now sit down, have a glass of wine and RELAX!

I have been on the Nuvaring for about a month now. I took out the ring about 5 days ago, and had my period yesterday. This morning I noticed that there was also a tissue looking mass in my pad. It was about the size of a quarter. But it was like a deflated ball. There was no opening to this. My boyfriend and I are sexually active. I haven't been feeling good at all since the Nuvaring. I was wondering if anyone knew what this was. I have only had one mass so far. I'm thinking that this is a miscarriage. But Can somebody help me? Let me know please :-(
