same thing just now happened with me. i felt something weird like a lot of blood or something passing but when i went to the bathroom to change my pad i noticed that same thing. i was figuring it was an early miscarriage and i was using birth control pills... missed a day and then was late on the next one THEN switched to NUVA RING so i was inconsistent to say the least. but i knew it was when i saw it. :-( what caused it is my question? was it the pills.. the nuva ring.. stress.. heat.. what??? i started showing spotting after noticing i was 7-8 days late... the spotting continued for about 3-4 days, very light.. then a little heavier. once it passed through it was a regular heavy period.

I had the same when i went on the pill 9 years ago. i had it once and didnt do anything with it. then it happened again so i bagged it up and took it to the docs.they said it was a 2 day old baby sack. so i was 2 days pregnant but no baby had developed.just the sack. i started the pill again 2 months ago and had it a few weeks ago.looked exactly the same but looking at everyone elses mgs maybe it was just the womb clearing itself out.unfortunately i didnt save it this time to show the doc. its a little bit saddening as i wouldn't like to think the pill was not functioning properly and not preventing but harming!! but i dont know.better to take it to the docs next time!

I actually had the same thing happen to me the other day. I had taken my nuva ring out for the first time on Sunday and I started bleeding that morning. Then that night I had really bad cramping so i took some ibuprofen and went to bed. The next day I took out my tampon and wiped and a whitish tissue like sac come out. I called my doctor thinking it was a miscarrage, she told me to come in to take a blood test for pregnancy because it would still show me pregnant if I had lost a baby. It was negative, so she thinks it was just from the new hormones in the nuva ring.

This is just the lubrication of your vagina girls, nothing to be worried about, this happens when your on your period jus to help things move on out a bit easier sometimes gets a bit thicker and lumpyer if u get "turned on" therefore wen u bleed it comes out to .

For anyone out there still looking to an answer to this.

Depending on what type of pill your taking and your natural reaction to it, all that these clumps are, are your uterus lining. Some pills (especially those that you take for 2 or 3 months before having a period) stop you from having your period when your body deems it neccessary. Therefore, your lining continues to build up instead of being removed from your body. The longer you go without a period the larger this clump of tissue will be and chances are the more painful it will be when your body decides to remove it (sometime you will have extremely severe cramping).

It's completely natural and if you are not experiencing pain from it then there is not anything to worry about. However if you are having severe or very painful cramps, I would suggest talking to your doctor and possibly switching to another type of birth control.

Im a virgin, and have never been on birth control, but I see tissue in my period blood all the time. I think it is just larger pieces of the uterine lining. As I am also STD free I'm assuming that this is a normal, healthy occurrence.

I am on the pill and I have been since I was 16 I am now 24. In the past year I have had tissue like clot things coming out when I have my period its very painful but when it is out the pain goes away and I dont have any cramps after that... What is going on? My DR said that its normal, but when it happens with every period every month I dont think that its normal. On time I had this tissue come out and it was about 4 inches long and thick. it almost looked like a sack for something, but I do'nt know... Does anyone have any info for me or advice?

I have just found something similar. It was about an inch/ inch and 1/2 long and was like liver, it was bright red, but not a blood clot. I am not on the pill, and do not have full intercourse. I was interested to know if this is normal as it has never happened before.

Hi, I get this also. I was worried the first time this happened. However, my gynaecologist told me that this is completely normal in women who take the pill continuously without a break.

I've had this twice in my lifetime. The first time was when I went on the pill. I missed a period and the next one was horrendous. It looked as though everything had dried up in a large ball of white-ish tissue. I had bad pains all day and took pain killers and then in the late afternoon I had terrible pain for several hours 9I've never felt anything like it since) and eventually passed out. I later woke up and it felt as though my body was pushing something out (I guess contractions are like that when you have a baby). Then this mass about the size of two golf balls side by side came out of me. I totally freaked out and showed my mum as she is a nurse. She wasn't sure what it was, but didn't seem concerned enough for me to go to the hospital and most of my pain had stopped and I only had regular period pain left. I have a huge fear of doctors (had a lot of bad experiences with them), so didn't do anything about it. Everything seemed to be fine after that. I stopped taking the pill after 4 months and haven't taken it since.

Then about two years ago I had something similar happen. The pain wasn't quite as bad, but my period was very heavy (I've always had heavy periods) and it felt like I had contractions again. This time I just took tons of painkillers and stayed on the loo as I assumed it would be like the time before. I fell asleep in the bathroom and felt okay the next day. I don't know if more tissue stuff came out that time.

I haven't had anything like that happen since. I refuse to go back on the pill and my boyfriend is happy to do everything aside from vaginal intercourse as it hurts me too much (always has done). I can't use tampons either as it gets too sore and I can't see myself having children. I wonder if I have/had scar tissue inside me. My periods have recently gotten a lot drier (dried blood mostly) and only last 3-4 days now instead of a week. The only thing I worry about is some sort of hormonal imbalance as I have a lot more hair on my body these days (only 25), my skin is drier and I seem to have a larger appetite (and therefore don't lose weight).

I have had so many bad doctors now that have given me the wrong things and made me sick, that I really don't want to go back to a GP again. I react badly to most drugs and only use herbal treatments now as they don't give me side effects. During the time I had these weird tissue things, I was not having sex so it wasn't miscarraige.

I literally JUST had the same thing and am now browsing the internet looking for answers. Just felt like a big BLEH coming out of my lady parts (I wear pads) and it was accompanied with the normal period blood and was a white hard to break apart thing. Pretty disgusting.

This just happened to me - I would describe it as a greyish/pink slimy deflated rubber alien, or a chunk of liver. About the length of my index finger, quite thick with a bit of width to it. This is not the first time this has occured, and it leaves me absolutely petrified - it is what I would imagine a miscarriage to look like, but I am almost 100% certain that is not the case. It is just so thick and large it is incredibly gross and worrying. From experience, do most people agree it is just lining which has been shed?

Last night the same happened to me. I had major cramping and felt something come out and I found a big white/pinky membrane-y piece of tissue with red clots attached to the sides. This has never happened to me before but I've just been put on to the pill about 2 months ago and I purposely missed my first period with it so this is my first 'pill' period. But I'm not sexually active so it can't be a miscarage and I'm quite worried about it. Does anyone have any suggestions/thoughts???
