My young son had been suffering the same symptons as you. He had head scans & thankfully all clear. Have you found out what causes it?

I have the same thing as you but my head aches last around 20 seconds to 3 minutes and something that helps me is laying down with my eyes closed (p.s. I am having a head ache at this moment and this is my longest I have ever had so far it was been going on for the 14 minutes)

I get the exact same headaches on the back right side of my brain. It only lasts for a while but they are so sharp I often freeze from the pain. Lately I've found they tend to fade and linger a lot longer :(

I think you might have hypertension, this is to do with high blood pressure. Most of you said that it occurs when you are lying down. This may be because the blood builds up in your head and causes a shooting headache. Try using more than one pillow to prop your head up.

All of you, google (image) occipital nerve and see if the location of your pain is the tip of these nerves on one side of the head (left or right, it rarely happens on both sides). The nerve goes up to behind the eye and also causes pain behind the eye. If it is the case, it means that you put too much tension on your neck and and sit badly. You should sit properly and position your neck properly. You can also google occipital nerve pain.

Mine is just like yours, sudden movement pain on right side that happens frequently for several years. At times worse then others both only last seconds but very painful. Wish I knew if it is something serious or just happens ?

That's the exact pain I have and under similar conditions. You never know when it's going to com but it can with sudden turns of the head. I've had mine over 50 years since I was 10. I used to describe it as a sudden shock that radiates up the back of the head. I thought I was the only person in the world with this. Haven't figured out to this day what it is, did you?
