For the past 3 to 4 weeks I get these head pains when I move my head side to side and once in awhile up and down. They seem to be subsiding but I seem to have them mostly at night time when I turn from side to side. They are in the middle to left side of the back of my head. It only lasts a few seconds and I feel fine otherwise. My ear was plugged and bothering me but I was on a z-pack, and a nasal spray. That did not seem to help. The pains remain only at night when I turn from side to side. Does anyone know what this could be?

I had the exact symptoms last night. If I lay completely still like I was on a coffin or something, I didn't hurt. But as soon as I moved my head in any direction, I had sudden, excrutiating, pounding pain that lasted for several seconds. When I had to get up to use the restroom, I thought my head was going to explode. As soon as I lay back down and assumed the coffin position, the pain went away. I was so afraid to move that I didn't make the effort to take any medication. When it got really bad, I toughed it out and got my medication from my night stand. That was bad! I took the meds, assumed the coffin position, then was finally able to go to sleep. About 30 minutes after I took my meds, it went away as if nothing ever happened. I've NEVER had that pain before. I've suffered for a while with daily migraines but like I said 3 times before, nothing like I had last night. I was seriously considering waking my husband to take me to the ER. I felt like I was having a stroke or something. Very scary.
