Hi. Has anyone out there had a craniotomy for a dural fistula? Mine is the bad kind--retrograde flow--& close to my eye. I am, of course, terrified and have been unable to find anyone who has had this rare disorder. I have no symptoms other than hearing my pulse in my head but am told that I need to have the fistula removed soon.

Have it removed promptly other wise you might face bleeding that could leave you disabled or dead. I had mine removed which was leaking into my sinuses. I had never heard of it either. I suffered alot with severe headaches after the MRA test. Get your surgery done asap.

HAD MY SURGERY IN June 2021 . All good . My symptoms were a pulsing in the corner of my left eye for about a minute around 2 times a week. After surgery i had a bit of pain around the 12 cm scar but it wasn’t too bad . HOWEVER 2 days later i suffered a really bad headache just above the eyes for about 2 days then fine after that. I have a follow up angiogram in 3 months to check it was all sorted. So the angiogram will be just over 2months time. Not sure when i can get my driving licence back
