Hi, My son is 2.5 years old. I just noticed a swelling under the foreskin of his penis. The swelling has p***y colour. He has no problem urinating. There is no fever. When i pull back the skin of the foreskin to check it out he feels painful. Kindly advice

Hi,

You really shouldn't be pulling back his foreskin. Unlike in an adult, the foreskin is attached to the glans. If you force it off, you can tear the skin and cause pain. I can't post a link (forum rules) but the American Academy of Pediatrics says that to care for the newborn you just have to wash the penis with soap and warm water, that's it.

If it's swollen you should probably have your pediatrician check it out.

Once he gets older then he should be able to retract his foreskin. In some cases this may not occur until 16 or even later.

Post back if you have more questions/concerns.
