If soap is not helping I use plain warm/hot water and an ointment. If discharge is happening or cleaning doesn't work fast I take acidophilus and stop eating bread, sugars, carbs, ciders/beer. At least reduce the intake of those and eat or drink more water based vegetables. Healthy habitat for a happy p***y cat.

Have this problem very often with intercourse. Used to also notice swelling and itching with periods and certain condoms (latex not an issue).
I have found the itching comes from irritating the swollen area by scratching, low airflow(try cotton), or low lubrication. Assuming there's not yeast infection or uti symptoms(damage from scratching can cause swelling as well), it may be one of two things: lack of lubricant during sexual activity/rougher action or an allergy to your partners semen which can be easily worked out with a physician, it may be their diet or even lack of exposure to it as it has a vast amount of nutrients we arent all accustomed to with today's trend dirts. Good luck ladies!

Yeast is not a bacteria. Yeast is a single-celled organism. Like bacterial cells, yeast cells have cytoplasm and a membrane surrounded by a cell wall. But unlike bacterial cells, yeast cells have a nucleus. I'd rethink calling people stupid.

I've noticed this message twice now. That is not the case, thrush is more likely in the genital area but can happen in oral regions only. Please research properly before telling people they are wrong

Yeast is not bacterial, it is fungal and can affect the vulva or mouth, especially in babies

I've had mine for litterally three days. So I went to hospital... Don't feel embarrassed until they have to put you on light anesthetics so 3-4 doctors can tell you that you have a bruised labia.

Does it change the shape of labia minora permanently? Because I feel like mine got sagged even after everything went back to normal by the morning. It has been two weeks...

I can't believe doctors have told a lot of you guys it's herpes or an sti. This happens to me whenever I use pads or if I'm rough with my vagina. It's simply swelling from all the friction. If you scratch, the itch and swelling will get worse. The best way for it to go away is to keep the area clean and dry and use loose fitting underwear and clothing. I've never had to use any ointment or anti-inflammatory. One time I couldn't resist and started scratching and I was scared at how swollen it became! But it does go down if you give it time.
