My left testical is 4 times the size of my right one, it's big ! I am 74 yo and I know the body changes as we get older, but I've never heard of this condition. It doesn't hurt and there are no bumps on the testical. I've gone to a Urologist but he said it wasn't cancer. I asked what it was and he said "Not to worry, it's common". It has now been 3 years, and becoming uncomfortable now when I sit down. Needless to say I don't see that Urologist anyway, and haven't gone to another. Can you please help me. What is it, what can be done to bring this testical down to normal size. :-( Thank you very much

Hello Richard, you need to have that testicle looked at. You definitely need a second opinion, and should have done it long ago. It may not be a tumor but it could be a fluid build up, which is usually not harmful but if it gets that big, it certainly gets in the way.
If this really is a hydrocele (fluid build up in the scrotum), your doctor (another urologist) will decide what to do with it. What I find irritating about your first urologist is that he didn’t even say what it was.
Some people mention draining when it comes to cysts, and I know of a procedure called aspiration but the problem with this procedure is that it carries risk of immediate recurrence but I am sure they have other ways but I am just not aware of them.
I reckon it is high time you saw another doc. Good luck!

I had this problem when I was in my late teens. I had it repaired at the same time as a hernia repair on the right side.I had had my family Dr. check it ,and he told me what it was and that the surgery could be done at the same time. As I recall the surgery for both took about an hour and a half. This was before they were using mesh to repair hernias, I have had 4 other hernia surgeries, but have never had any other problems with my testicle. My Urologist did laser surgery to open up the urethra and did not mention any side effects, such as retrograde ejaculation.Which I now have, and don't think a lot of the Urologist! You may want to contact a surgeon, and forget the urologist.
