About 10 days ago, my tonsils became swollen overnight and had a few white hole-like dents in each. As well as this, it was very painful to swallow food, water or even saliva. This has never happened to me before and I am almost 18. Never has a problem with my tonsils. 

I took non-prescription tablets you dissolve in water which dulled the pain. After approx 4 days the holes went away and then 1 day later so did the pain. Now it has been 10 days, I have no pain, but my tonsils are still swollen and give me a nasal voice, as if I had a blocked nose. And I am producing quite a bit of flem each day. What is happening exactly? Has anyone been through this before?
