I've had this for the past few months, I feel like throwing up after a short while of swalloning this taste. I did have an abcessed molar removed about 2 years ago and I still get a twinge of pain where the tooth was every now and then. Is this a constant sinus problem, I have no problems with swelling or pressure in the sinus areas of my face, no other symptoms at all, just the lousy taste of baking soda in my mouth.

Hi, I really hope that you solved your problem. I know that your post is several years old, but I want to share my experience because it might help someone.
I had similar weird taste in my mouth, just like baking soda. After numerous tests, it turned out to be an acid reflux. I got prescribed with antacid called Mylanta and cut out coffee and carbonated beverages and taste vanished after few months.
Doctors even told me that baking soda taste can be caused by some brands of a toothpaste or sinus issues.

God thanks I just got this today everything tastes horrific the only thing different is a took a neurofen yesterday and I used corsydyl mouthwash last night maybe this morning. Now that I think beyond the taste my chest is burning like acid. I'll take a magnesium tablet and see if that helps its making my ears hiss too..and my tooth hurt as well..so goodness knows what it is but I can try some antacids and see if it Helps. My coffee this mornig tasted absolutely cruel and my blender leaks metal out the base like rusty liquid I thought maybe that liquid got in my coffee cos I ground them in there with hot water after accidentally forgetting to grind the beans. Long story short thanks!!

I have been waking up with excessive mouth watering like I’m going to throw up. I don’t but have to run to the bathroom because I think I am going to. Anyway I swallowed it this morning and noticed it tasted like baking soda. Then when I got up I had a little acid reflux come up. This is not a normal thing for me but I’ve gotten acid reflux a few times. My son has it every morning night and day I feel so sad for him. Anyway I wanted to say. That sucking on a cough drop has made my acid reflux better. But for more severe like my sons he has had to be on prescription medication.
