After a long run, I find that I am suddenly a complete doofer. I trip over stuff, I walk into walls, I am a butterfingers. I have no problem with this any other time, only after long runs, and only for a few hours.
I asked my superfantastic running friend if it happens to him and he said "no :umno: ".
Please tell me that you do this, too! Please?

Well, I'm no doctor but if you're not dizzy or nauseous I'd say it's just you body recovering?? Low blood sugar was a guess too, but there's usually dizziness or nausea along with loss of motor control.

Brutal doesn't run anything more than 800 meters, so he really wouldn't be a good person to ask.
It sounds like you are just physcially and mentally tired. Have you tried taking a 30 minute nap after your post run stretch and shower? At least just lay down and rest for a bit and have a little something to eat. That might reduce you clumsiness by at least the coefficient of friction or something.
I think cherylpf wears a helmet after her workouts just to be on the safe side.
Good luck. I hope this helps.

I'm gonna go with the blood sugar thing. It happens to me some times and after I eat, I recover pretty quickly. Or if you eat more, or carb load, you'll probably find that it occurs less.

Sorry, I haven't ever had that problem.:1: though sometimes I get that woozy or "high" feeling after a long run..

Just a thought here Cheeks. It could be a result of low blood pressure or low blood sugar. Both can cause that woozy feeling. If I had to guess I would think it was the latter.

There's something to be said for the low blood sugar, I am hypoglycemic and after a really hard session, Jerry Lewis has got nothing on me. I skate 40 miles but can't walk down the steps. i locr count on the amount of times i wrenched my shoulder catching myself while falling down the steps.

According to my Internet medical research, you are both pregnant and have Lyme disease. Congratulations and I'm sorry.

I may not be quite as clumsy as you describe, but I do find that my coordination drops off during long runs. I do not even have the coordination to open a gel! It seems to go away when I stop running -- or I am just normally so clumsy that I cannot tell the difference.
Well to the running clumsy club. Tripped over any sidwalk cracks? (I have

Quit staring at the billboard of John, and pay attention to where you are going! :P

I'm always a klutz. :)Wish I could help, but I'm constantly running into things, tripping, etc... Running seems to be the only time I'm not in danger or falling.

I've had that before after really hard runs, its like I'm too exhausted to not trip over things or something. Usually a snack and a nap cures all. but isn't that the solution to all things in life? ;) I guess its a fatigue/blood sugar thing, at least with me.
