I am suffering from Thalassemia. Thalassemia is a condition where the body does not produce enough healthy read blood cells. I am having blood transfusions all my life. I just was wondering how others cope with being lethargic and having extreme fatigue just before you are due for your transfusion. I'm on folic acid but nothing helps when I feel like this. I need to hear some suggestions. Thank you.

I’ve heard from other people who suffer from Thalassemia that are also very lethargic before the blood transfusions. I asked them what they can recommend you. Here are some suggestions: drink lots of fluids with electrolytes and small high protein, low iron meals, avoid sugar, wheat free bread, vitamin C. I hope this will help you. Take care.
