4-5-13: I'm all messed up.  I feel a throbbing vein in addition to the two large hemorrhoids I have.  Constant feeling of messed up stomach.  Always feel like I have to go to the bathroom.  Horrible fear of bleeding again.

THD messed me up horribly worse than I was prior to the surgery.

4-29-13, coming up on 5 months from THD surgery.  Still messed up.  Hemmorroids are painful.  Stomach is messed up.  Itchyness here and there.  After Bowel Movement I always feel like I still have to go.  Life is messed up.

DO NOT GET  THD Transanal Hemorrhoidal Dearterialization

DO NOT DO IT!!!

Also according to Wikipedia, Rubberband Ligation is supposed to be used for 2nd Degree Hems.  The first surgeon I went to did 3 on me and I had probably 4th Degree and 3 Degree Hems.  I'm starting not to trust surgeons at all.

Anon, it looks like you might have to contact the FDA, which supposedly okayed this procedure. I got the pamphlet the other day, and of course the words "Doppler -guided" sent red flags waving. Are they removing overstretched blood vessels, or predicting the weather in there? I mean, I've heard of people who have bad reactions to procedures, and you could be one of them. But there's no excuse for the way you've been treated. I think you should report your doctor to the medical board of your state and county. Post on Yelp, and all other complaint boards you can find. I recommend Ripoff Report, there's also complaints.com, and maybe you could contact Consumer Reports. And check out Quack Watch as well. I hope you get better soon, that's not right you had to suffer so much, to the point of almost dying.

Thanks for your post. Sorry you had such a miserable time. I was going to make an appointment for an initial consultation re THD but your experience, and the experience of many others posting here, made me decide against it. I recently saw a doctor who does the Ultroid treatment. He assured me that his treatment is almost pain free, but he said I would need around 8 or 9 treatments and at $950 per treatment, it isn't an option for me either, as this procedure isn't covered by medicare (Aus) I also tried Anuice, which didn't do much for me at all.

Was your THD done by a colon & rectal specialist surgeon or was it a general surgeon? Your experience sounds like a nightmare from hell. I am hoping that a THD done by a colon & rectal specialist would have a less painful & better outcome.

I am considering having this procedure done, but I was going to go to Austin. Thank you for sharing your experience, I'm currently undecided now what to do. Sounds like I would need something stronger than Vicodin. Please keep us posted.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry you are in pain. I'm with you, they need to give you something stronger than Vicodin?
I'm considering having this procedure done, but now I'm second guessing the whole . Thank you for sharing, I really appreciate it. Feel better
