you know, it's extraordinary how weed affects people differently. Some people get sleepy, some people (like me) get hyperactive.

Giving up weed is similar. Some people seem to manage without any trouble at all. Others (like me) go to hell and back!

I'm in my 50's now and started smoking when I was 16. That must be a whole field of weed! I finally quit exactly a year ago and I had a tough time. The first week was ok, but things got worse and worse...cramps, insomnia, anxiety and worst of all, pretty bad depression.

HOWEVER, one year on and I feel better than I ever have in my life. My mind is sharp and calm, I'm healthy and I'm HAPPY.

So I would recommend that anyone with a habit quits completely because you are better without it. I'm going to suggest one thing which pretty much saved me this last year...

MEDITATION.

I'm serious. Get yourself along to a decent meditation group...TM is ok, Buddhist Meditation is the real thing.

Then replace your cannabis habit with a meditation habit.

I now start each day with a 30 minute meditation session and I have have received dozens of comments from family and friends about how well I seem.

I have tried every drug known to amn in my life, but I can tell you there is NO BETTER HIGH than the sheer bliss of a clear head and an energetic healthy body. No depression. No anxiety. No insomnia. And no hangover. Guaranteed.

What about pain? Weed is excellent for pain!! Much better than be hooked up on morphine or oxycontin. Besides you dont have to smoke or eat pot all the time. I don't drink alcohol, do you? Weed is just simply not for everyone!! Whatever makes you happy right? I also love to meditate, specially after a smoke one!8-|

thing is, Apa, meditation is a great way to control pain.

What I realise now is that everything about weed is short term whereas everything about meditation is long term. Weed makes you feel great for a little while but the downside is you eventually feel worse than ever. Also you find you need progressively more to control pain or feel good.

Incidentally, you cannot meditate when you are high. I used to think you could, but I was wrong. If you are stoned you are not meditating.
