hi guys, i'm 32 yrs old, i'm a Filipina, i have SM since i was 13 it started to came out more as i aged. right now i have it around my neck, chest, armpit, abdomen area, lower arms, back, butt and at the back of my thighs. i have few on my neck and armpits. but i have a lot of noticeable cyst on my abdomen area, lower arms and the back of my thighs. I really hate this condition, but there's nothing i can do with it, it really makes my life miserable ang frustrating for having this. Even my social activity was affected because of this, i avoid going out ang socialize with my friends or other people because i'm afraid they might notice it and ask about it. We know that there are a lot of mean people who'll just make fun of this condition, simply because they didn't know what's it like if you have this. this week i'll go to my derma to remove cyst on my neck, i've done this treatment a few years before, fortunately it doesn't leave any scars on my skin. i'm optimistic that our scientist could develop more options on treating this kind of disease. do you guys ever feel the same way like i did? it's kind a relief knowing i'm not the only one dealing with it, that i could talk to someone who could understand what i feel.

Hello everyone!

I'm 17, and I've been recently diagnosed with SM just a couple weeks ago. I've had this condition for a long while now, and it's getting worse. I'm limited to the clothes I wear because of it and it frustrates me. However, I'm really glad there's a forum for SM; it's a reminder for me that I'm not the only one struggling with this disease and that there are other people experiencing the same feelings as I am about SM.

Well anyways, I've been reading up on the 5-fluorouracil injection and it's giving me hope. I have a couple of questions though. I told my teacher about the injection and she said that because it's also used for cancer (meaning that it stops the formation of cells), I could lose my hair... Is this true? How safe is it? (I know I'd probably be taking risks anyway.)

Are there other ways of maybe decreasing it's noticeability? I've been taking Flaxseed and Omega 3 but I don't know...

Thank you so much. :-D

Hey perroloco, the reason is that all those supplements promote or enhance healing process. From what I know, cysts actually are very small, if you can take right nutrition , it may suppress the condition.

Thanks for the fast response nerfer!
So you are currently taking all those vitamins? Wich amounts??
And do you feel they're working on you??
I strongly believe that the cure/managment of the disease Is simpler than we all think, for instance the use of vitamins, as long with a propper diet... Help me out a little and i'll start taking them inmediately.
I was already using omegas (animal omega from universal) for the last 6 months...

Please be reminded, for supplements, acid based one is better for the healing process.

and some other) may help reduce the activity of the sebaceous gland...

That is from refgen... I'll ask my dictors next week to ask them if that is really what i think, and if the use of any of those drugs might be helpfull... Some of the listes, like tretinoin, i already know that they're safe to try (in the topic version at least)....

Well, you can do your own research on that and let me know. You can find my Mail on a few previews posts.

Take care.

Hey, sorry,I am kind of busy writing my graduation paper, The supplements Im taking are just some normal form of nutrition prescribed from my local pharmacy. the reason I took them as I mentioned before it just acts as a extra material to suppress my condition.

btw, perroloco, the Tretinoin you mentioned , I am quite interested in that, Are you taking them regularly, how is that going?
