This is a really bad idea. I understand you are suffering and do not judge. Please try another doctor. Sometimes when in pain, your patience runs low. You just don't what you are going to get. The people might rob you or come back and rob you. Think this out well. There has to be other doctors that will trust and believe in you. Try to contact prior doctor for his advise.

What has made it hard for the doctors in the US is the "drug seekers". If you have had a good relationship and documented disease/injury with your doctor taking pain medicine, there should be no reason why you should not be able to re-establish, and get help when needed.

It gulls me to see people abuse pain medicine as well; however I do try and give everyone the benefit of the doubt. There just is no room for selling drugs on the street; or for buying on the street. You are right, this is a lot of hassle and expense for pain relief. I wish anyone abusing pain meds the courage to get help.

Why are you calling your doctor, that is trusting you and helping you manage your severe pain, "A Quack-Doc"?

Blancett, if you are in pain and need medication and your doctor will not prescribe, go to a different physician. Buying from the streets could cost you a lot more than the price of the pills, it could cost you some freedom. I don't agree with all the regulations, but they are there regardless.

When you do see a doctor (old or new), be sure to be open to new ideas and be specific about why you do or do not want to pursue them. Doctors have to deal with a lot of abuse and they want to help but you need to adaquately comunicate your pain and the other comorbid conditions it is causing such as insomnia.

I hope this helps and I'm sorry your being shut off. We live in a nanny world these days.

That is good for you, but you can't compare yourself to another, and maybe you don't have pain. Pain is subjective, so they could have more pain in their pinkie than you have in your body, so your breakthrough pain is nothing. Why judge??

you are what is called a troll and you need to get a life. This is serious for people who need help with medication. Karma can be cruel and if I were you I would be careful with my judgements and words.

If you read her post correctly she had to go "COLD TURKY" because of the price and husband lost his jobPeople relly need to not judge and I don't care that you have severe pain and that is why you have to tsake like most of us,we are all addicted physically to these painkillers, even if you stated to feel less pain you would still need to take and SLOWLY>>>>I REPEAT SLOWLY taper off because your physical body has become addicted whether or not you have psycologically.I went cold turky because I was on them so many years I wasn't sure if my pain had decreased if I didn't have.Well I had two strokes where I was hemmoraging in my brain because the withdrawls made my blood pressure sky high. Please try and stay positive for others because it really does no good to judge and asume things.

The same religious zealots who tell you that you cannot have a 32 oz soda in NY and the same people who tell you what kind of light bulb you can use and what kind of car you can drive. The same religious zealots who tell you that you cannot use oil from Canada

Please any advice is needed. i fell off a ladder 23 years ago. i have advanced post traumatic degenerative osteoarthritis in the right elbow. I have just moved to Georgia and have found a massive dose of paranoia regarding pain meds. i have had the same orthopedic surgeon for 14 years. i fought to get my pain meds down to 4 10/325 norco's a day. My new orthopedic surgeon in Georgia won't prescribe pain meds, his entire attitude towarsd me changed when i mentioned i was on my last prescription from my California surgeon. He wants me to see a "pain specialist." I don't know what to do as the first pain specialist was an absolute A whole. Demanded that i take no more than 3 pills a day, Didn't even view my x rays to see i was bone on bone between the head of the radius to the Ulna. i have no history of med abuse, actualy my records show that i was the patient that called the doctor to drop my meds from 6 a day to 4 a day. Please any advice or doctor recomendation is needed. i run out of pills on the 24th.
