hey i recently had a abortion
you will be given three options to choose from;
- Abortion by pill: you will have to take two pills at the clinc on two different days (usually about a week apart)
- abortion by vacuum (awake): you will be taking into a room where they will operate on you and effectivly suck out the pregnacy while you are awake, you will be sedated to lessen the pain and they will give you food to eat after it and any pain relief you require they also give you a warm water bottle to help if you have any cramps
- abortion by vacuum (awake): it is the same as the above but you are put to sleep before, you feel no pain during the proceedure and they make sure to talk to you the whole time before you fall asleep, once it is done (it takes about 10 minutes at the most) you are put in a different room and you will be woken up and sat in a recliner where you will be given a drink of your choice and snacks until you are ready to get up, they will let you get changed in privacy and you are able to go home. this is the proceedure i went through and i had mild pain after and felt very sick all of a sudden but that passed quickly and i have been fine since

i would recommend being put to sleep because i am so bad with pain and that was the part i was most worried about i am only 18 and it needed to be done, i was so scared you wouldnt believe it but after i was relieved that i felt next to no pain.
the pain i experienced was the injection into the arm and the needle they leave in it, after the operation it made it very hard for me to get dressed so bring baggy comfortable clothes when you go, after the operation the only pain i felt was slight cramps and i felt extremely sick when i went to get changed but those feelings soon when away, sitting down is uncomfortable at first. it has been 4 days since my abortion and i have had no pain since the actual day it happened i have heard from a friend that being awake you can feel it being prodded around and you feel a cramp which is double what a normal period cramp would feel like through the whole proceedure
it only takes around 35 minutes in total from the time you are put to sleep until the time you leave so being put to sleep in my eyes is the best option
