I another episode yesterday. When to swallow small amount of popcorn and next thing I knew was I could not get any air in my throat. My friend said it lasted almost 15 seconds and my face started to swell.  Back in the 70s I had the same thing occur and doctor could not find out what caused the problem.  I do not have a thyroid and I have acid reflux.  I've noticed that I can't take large pills without splitting and sometimes some food may get stuck in my throat and I get strangled swallowing saliva.  Between Nov and Dec CT and MRI performed.  It appears I have bone spurs and lots of arthritis in my neck and throat.  Suppose to see a surgeon in Feb.  Anyone ever had this happen?   I'm thinking of getting a life alert button since I'm basically alone.
