I have observed my wife's throat clicking - I have read numerous posts on this topic & see much uncertainty & perhaps some direction (Possible thyroid problem, particularly cartilage in thyroid) - I'll suggest to my wife that she have her thyroid checked, particularly the cartilage
I asked previously (but was unable to see replies to my post) - Any chance that this throat clicking problem is connected at all or exacerbated in any way by alcohol? - My wife is not an alcoholic, but she may enjoy a glass of wine too many, sometimes unfortunately on an empty stomach
The throat clicking is very bad on those occasions when my wife has had perhaps 1 glass of wine too many, or has had wine on an empty stomach
On those occasions (& I really don't mean to say this in a mean way), it almost seems like my wife's throat is begging for more alcohol to be poured down her throat
I'd prefer to go the thyroid & cartilage possible solution, but if it is possibly alcohol related, I'd guess we'd like to figure that out too
Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated

I found the reason for my throat problems were from coughing up too much phlegm. I had a habit of always trying to clear out my lungs and over time it wore down my throat. I thought I had a serious problem because of the popping in my throat when i swallowed. I went to the doctor and they could not figure out what was causing it. I had to figure it out on my own. I just started swallowing my phlegm instead of coughing it up which I know sounds disgusting, but as soon as I quit coughing that stuff up my throat got better within a day or two. It had been bothering me for well over a year. I obviously am a smoker but have been trying to switch over to vaping. So if you smoke and cough a lot of stuff up and your throat hurts and pops when you swallow, quit coughing stuff up. Hope this helps someone. I was convinced I was dying at one point from throat cancer it was so bad for me.
