I have one rhetorical question. I am 25 and I have thyrod nodules. I know that is genetic disease and I have probably got it from my mother. My aunt has it as well. First time I realized that my neck is swelling in area where thyrod usually is, when I was 13. Doctors said that is too young, that I am an exception, but that all it can be done is to take medicaments regularly and control my thyrod. That will go probably until the end of my life. I am mother and I wonder is there way that I can prevent my children from having thyrod nodules or any other thyrod problems. I would like to keep them from it. Do you have information about prevention of this disease? I read somewhere that coconut milk my help to keep thyrod under control?

One thing is certain: thyrod nodules can not be prevented. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it, apart of taking care about your own disease. That means taking your medicaments regularly and using recommended doses. Consult your endocrinologist every time when you have a doubt about your therapy. Watch out your children and if you noticed symptoms which are familiar to you, ask for a professional help.
You mentioned nothing about your weight. New research shown that coconut oil makes really good ingredient in diets. It is recommended to be taken for the people who have hypothyrod and who gained weight. Coconut oil is helpful in the process loosing weight.
Once again, I advice you to make an appointment and talk to your doctor to be sure is it suitable for your therapy. I hope that my opinion will help you to make further steps. Be optimistic!
