I am 21 yrs old, about 5ft tall and only weigh 85 pounds. My doctor and my parents are concerned about my weight and would like for me to weigh at least 100 pounds, and she, my doctor, would to see some weight gain when I see her in a year. I have been working out, sleeping well thru the night and eat really well. (I eat fruits, veggies, some meat, some carbs, etc. and very if at all any sweets). I'm scared that I won't be able to have children because my weight i so low. My BMI of 17.1 has me concerned too. Any advice? I am highly allergic to all peanut products and strawberry products.

Have you considered seeing a Naturopath to help you gain weight in a healthy way? If you are trying to gain weight, you will want to include healthy fats in your diet such as avocado, coconut oil and nuts and seeds. Fish also contains good fats so if you do eat fish, I would consider incorporating that into your diet 2-3x/week. I am assuming that your MD has checked your thyroid levels to ensure yours is not overactive; if she hasn't, I would insist that she checks and rules out Graves Disease/Hyperthyroidism. I hope this helps!
