I am currently on day five of getting my tonsils and adenoids removed and have been doing extremely well i think compared to most. What i do have to say is that if you are not in a lot of pain the first couple of days, get as much food down as you can. I have been eating mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, among other things since the day i got them out. But, when it really starts to hurt especially after a night of sleep the only thing i can say is drink drink drink!!!!! Moistening your throat will help the pain even though i know it hurts at first. Do not take little tiny sips, take medium size gulps i promise they hurt way less because your throat does not have to contract as much as it would if you were taking tiny sips. I am doing this without the narcotics the doctors perscribed because they make me dehydrated and honestly my body cannot stand it! i am 20 years old and have been alternating between the childrens liquid tylenol and ibuprofen. Do not take what everyone says to heart, not even me. It will freak you out and make you assume the worst. Take it one day at a time but please stay hydrated that was the worst part for me within the first couple days!

I am really glad to hear this because let's be honest, it is very rare that someone is feeling that good after getting tonsils and adenoids removed. I understand you totally when it comes to food, because I have been eating mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, etc, but with one difference - I was in pain. What is your secret? Did you do something special to be better, maybe you were taking more than one antibiotic or something like that? I mean, this pain is behind me, but I am pretty sure that this would be really helpful to some many generations that are about to remove their tonsils and adenoids.
