Do you use a treadmill now? If you do, going on the treadmill at the speed and intensity you're used to is fine, as long as you don't start feeling tired or out of breath. When this happens, stop.

If you haven't been on a treadmill before, start slowly and work your way into it, like you would any other exercise.

With either regime, ask your doctor if your case is unusual. Some women have more problems during pregnancy than others, so you want to talk to your OB/GYN to make sure that your treadmill regime is okay.

As for how many calories should you burn, talk to your doctor. Again, this could be different for you than for other women. My sister-in-law needed to gain weight most of her pregnancy, so it would have been dangerous for her if she decided to burn a lot of calories.
