ok so I admit to eating too fast and probably do not chew my food well enough. But sometimes, particularly when eating beef or something else heavy, I will feel like the food is stuck in my esophagus and I need to drink to push it down. sometimes that doesn't work and it feels like the liquid is trapped on top of the food. I do not feel like I am choking as I can still breathe if I spit up the water.
It then takes gagging/throwing up whatever was stuck inside to clear the way but then it takes a matter of time to relax the throat before I can eat or drink again.
Is this simply my own fault of eating too much too fast, not chewed up well enough or is something more serious occurring? I'm 31 and this has been going on for as long as I can remember.
