I always remembered twitching, ever since I was small. I am 15 right now and it still happens. Back track: when I was 5, my aunt and brother noticed I jerked my head like I was saying no, a lot. I remember feeling like i had to do it to make the pressure go away (not hurt, it's like having a feeling that you should itch something) and I stopped for a short period of time. In Sunday school, same year, I would extend my neck forward, and I remember the teacher askin me about that. Then that stopped for good. Never came back, but I do something similar, tilt my head up and open my tonsils (feels stretched). And my jaw had spasms, where I would have to click my teeth to make that feeling go away, like an uncomfortable feeling. There was also my eyes, I would blink a lot and sometimes squeeze my eyes shut. Happens often. That has been the most noticeable. The teeth clicking got on my dads last nerve. I also furrow my brow a lot, and raise my eyebrows. Example: I will furrow, then I release and raise my eyebrows/forehead. It hasn't affected my life too much so far, I do have other spasms inmy face , except I think with other children. I remember being hurt by my best friend who left me out because I twitched. One of my teammates also noticed the blinking, my excuse was having something in my eye, and my mom pointed that out to my eye doctor and he said it was from TV or computer use... It happens even if I don't use them! Any suggestions? Sorry about the format/grammar!

Hello,

I don't mean to come off as brash but have you ever been tested for TS (Tourette Syndrome)? I'm no doctor, but I wanted to help so I did some research. It seems to me that you have a lot of the symptoms, especially since this all started at an early age, and not from, at least what you described, a trauma. Here is the official website of the Tourette Syndrome Association: http://tsa-usa.org/aMedical/whatists.html . If I were you, I'd sit down with a trusted adult/relative/friend after you've read up, and plan a course of action such as seeking the consult of a professional to get some answers of why these tics are occurring and if you may or may not have TS. I'm sure many people are in your situation to afraid to speak out. You are brave, not knowing what answers you may have received and yet still going forth and asking the question.

Good Luck. And I hope you find your answers.

Thank you for your info!! I'm sort of afraid to ask my parents Because they would think I was over reacting/ hypochondriac (I think that's what it's called) i really want to know how to bring it up in a professional manner, thank you for your support!

It's really no problem. Maybe you should just ask them to have a sit down with you, and tell them that you have a serious matter to discuss. You are concerned for yourself and if you come to them with the facts, I don't see why it should be recognized by anything other than maturity. It takes a lot of confidence to confront your own issues and then let anyone on the outside in. I wish you luck, and I truly hope you find your answers. Let me know how everything goes.

Wishing you the best!
