Tulsa reporters from Oklahoma said that two children, ages 7 and 9, died after being infected by the rare parasite called Naegleria. Naegleria is an amoeba who swims in the stagnant water and enters the body through the nose and causes deadly inflammation of the brain. Both boys came to doctors with symptoms of fever, hallucinations and headaches.

It is believed that the boys have been swimming in the nearby ponds. The examinations are still being made and the three city pools have been closed for the examinations as well. They are trying to determine if chlorine, which kills the ameba, is still at the adequate level.

If the city officials manage to determine that the boys contracted the infection from a natural body of water they will work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to post warning signs.
Last person that got infected with the parasite back in 1998 was a 3 years old girl who was also from Tulsa area. She was swimming in the Kaw and Fort Gibson lakes before she got sick.
