Hi Pais,
You tested too early. You need to wait at least 2 weeks after you had sex, or when your period is late, to test.

I had a period on August 30th then slept with someone on September 16th with a condom on and he didnt cum at all. I then got my period on September 26th. Normal period. I slept with someone else on October 5 6 7 and 8th I found out I was pregnant on October 17th. On October 26 I went for a ultrasound and they said I was 5 weeks. Did I get pregnant in early October or is there a chance I could have got pregnant when I had sex in September? help!

Hi Confused,

It is unlikely that you were pregnant from September 16. The timing is wrong and you had a normal period.

Dates are based upon your LMP because most women know exactly when that was. 5 weeks would be very close to your September 26 period - it's not based on when you actually conceived. The ultrasound would show almost 9 weeks if you got pregnant in September.

"Someone else" is almost certainly the father.

Hello thanks for your response. 5 weeks was a guess by the ultrasound tech because the computer wouldn't even spit out a number because it was so early. Also all that was seen was a fluid filled sac. If I conceived in September then you for sure would have been able to see somethin? AAlso I was doing ovulation tests in October to see when I ovulate and I got a positive on October 7th if that makes a difference. Also all the intercourse in Octobe was all unprotected with him going inside me. Again tthank you

Yes, it makes sense. You ovulated on day 11 of your cycle and timing would be just about perfect - as it appears to be :).

Yes, you would see much more at 9 weeks or so.

Remember, all dates are approximate.

Good luck.

Hi Confusedmummy,

Your due date is consistent with your last period on 20 March. Having sex on April 1 would be day 11 of your cycle. Normally you'd ovulate between days 11 and 16 of your cycle. You'd would have been near/at peak fertility.

Odds are very good it is your current partners baby. A DNA test can confirm.

Thanks for your reply obviously these calculations are not 100% accurate that's why I'm just worried

You can get a non-invasive DNA test. It uses your blood and that of your partner. They can detect the babies DNA in your blood so don't need a sample now.

The difficult part in your case is the morning after pill. It can alter your cycle. You would be unlikely to get pregnant taking it in time however.

Since the ultrasound confirms the 20 March date, that is a very good sign that your current partner is the father.

Hi, would really appreciate some advise as I'm feeling stressed and worried who the father of my unborn child is. The first day of my last period was around the 23rd of May.. I had sex with my current bf around the 21st of May. I then had sex with my ex bf on the 31st of May. Then didn't have sex with my current by till the 7th of June. Who is the father of my baby? And could it be possible i fell pregnant before I had my last period and it actually wasn't a prooer period. Please help thank you

Hi Mum2b,

You would be VERY unlikely to get pregnant having sex on the 21st, 2 days before your expected period. The egg would NOT be viable and you'd be at your lowest fertility.

Having sex on the 31st would be day 8 of your cycle.
Having sex on the 7th of June would be day 15 of your cycle.

You normally would ovulate sometime between days 11 and 16 of your cycle. Sperm can survive UP TO about 5 days.

It could be either your ex boyfriend or your current. You will need a DNA test to tell. As I posted above, you can do it now, non-invasively.

Was your last period "normal" for you? If not, did you have sex before the 21st? When?

Good luck. Hope it helps.

Im not sure when I had sex with my current bf before the 21st May . But i know my last period that was on the 23rd of May was late and lasted only 2-3 days. I've been given a due date of 25th feb but I'm not sure if that's correct as I had given my last first day of my period as the 21st May so I think the Nurse went off that date. I now have realised my last first day of period was 23rd of May. I'm currently 25 weeks and 3 days but meauring at 24 weeks 3 days. Praying it's my current bf baby as my ex was a one night big mistake

Was this date obtained by ultrasound? If so, it is within a week of your LMP, so that was your likely LMP. Otherwise you'd be 4 weeks further along.

A DNA test is the only way to know. Sorry.

Yes ultrasound told me my due date was the 25th of Feb. So does that mean it can't be possible it's my current bf's baby? Thanks for the help

It can be either. Only a DNA test can provide you your answer. It's just too close.
