Hello,
One month ago I slammed the door on my middle finger. It was very painful and extremely swollen for days. The subungual hematoma occupied 80% of my nail.
I did not get it drained. I was given pain killers and the swelling decreased.
It's been a month now and I'm not even sure the nail is growing. 80% of my nail is still blue.
I also thought my nail was growing but I wonder if it's just my old nail detaching itself from the nail bed.
I can feel where the base of my nail ends, and I don't feel a new one growing.
Is my nail going to grow back? Will there be any permanent nail deformity?
This injury just happened from a heavy door... there was no laceration... what do you think? :'(
