Wow, I've been experiencing this my whole life, I'm 29 and it happens somewhere between 5 and 8 times per year. I had no idea others experienced it as well.
It almost always happens at night, although it did happen once when I was at work in the middle of the day. I've personally noticed that talking on my cellphone in the dark seems to trigger it more than anything else, especially if I'm feeling a little frustrated due to an argument, or if I'm stressed out about something. Sometimes it happens without being on a cellphone, when I'm just all alone. It happens a lot when I'm laying down, getting ready to fall asleep.
I can tell when its coming on, a few minutes before I will begin to feel weird. No other way to explain it but weird. Then when it happens, my hands and fingers seems far too small, as does anything else I look at or touch. Sounds seem to come way too quick, as do my thoughts. If I move around, it feels at though I'm running, even if I'm moving as slow as possible. When I speak it feels like I'm yelling and speaking way too fast. A lot of times I end up whispering in order to compensate.
I always get out of bed when it happens and look at myself in the mirror. I find that focusing on my face and breathing helps make it pass quicker. When I was younger, I used to be very frightened by this whole thing, but I've come to accept it as I know it will pass in 10 minutes or so.
Afterwards I often had a bad headache.
The more I read up on Alice in Wonderland Syndrome the more I think that may be what this is. All the symptoms seem to match what I and all of you are describing.

wow, thought I was the only one experiencing this but my episodes only last a few second during which multiple hour passes actually for real. I see everything moving in fast forward (the clock goes like crazy, roommates turn in their beds like wtf, it is kinda funny), so that means I'm the one who slows down drastically. It only happened to me in the morning so far and it has been happening to me for over 2 years now (I had a surgery 2 years ago with general anesthesia and it started happening after that, maybe just coincidence) on different basis (there was a week when it happend every single day). I'm 20 years old btw.

more than all of you i was searching for the cause of this fast feeling.all over my life i experienced it.it began when i was 8 to now that im 23.somehow i like the moments when every thing goes quick.i can continue this feeling to every moment that i like.i have the control to finish it but i dont have the control to start it.the signs of its start is that my mouth get larger(i thought it) and after 5 minutes every thing goes fast.it occurs mostly when im ready, studying or writing and also focusing in something important.sometimes the accuracy of my reading gets higher(at those feelings) because of this i thought maybe its a power.my sister has this feeling too.in this feeling the sounds around me get higher piches and i hear them louder.i said i can continue this feeling, when i decide to continue this after 15 minutes continuing i think that my brain is exploding then i decide to finish it.i dont know what it is....
i read 3 pages of this forum but i got tired of reading because every one was saying their experiences, have any of you find a reason for this feeling.mail me please this is my mail

My 16yo son has been experiencing this fast feeling since he was about 5. It began after a high fever, and he also experienced night terrors as a child. He seems to get them more now when he is concentrating on something - as in when taking tests. He will often text and say "it's happening". He's not disturbed by it so much anymore.
I experienced more of the aiws symptoms as a child and even as an adult - especially in times of stress, as in an argument in bed, etc. The corner of the bedroom would seem far away, I would seem tiny on the bed, my hands would seem big, etc.
My mother has migraines, but not these sensations. I've never had migraines. Neither does my son. I do experience vivid, colorful, sometimes bizarre dreams. I have wondered if there is a connection between ADD and these experiences. Do any of you have ADD/ADHD? I have been diagnosed with ADD. I wonder if some of the things that cause the inability to concentrate, to filter out distractions, etc might be connected with this somehow. Anyone?

I was just in the middle of having one of my crazy moments, I don't know what else to call them. I have never thought to google it but literally during my episode I googled, brain going really fast but everything going slow. As soon as I started reading everyone's posts it went away. I have been dealing with these periods of uncomfortable speediness and loudness in my head, that last at most 10 minutes, for as long as I can remember and I am 24 years old. Does anyone know what it is? I absolutely hate it and would like to put a name to whatever it is.

It´s the same for me, been looking for an answer for this for years only now did i find this forum! Used to occur often as a child, now only on occasion, I´m 22 btw. I have found a way to make it stop but it only works like 1/3 of the time. Chew or talk, that sometimes makes it stop.
The strangest thing here is that most people posting here are between 20-22 and i have it around the same amount, that is around 2-4 times a year. I found that thing about hypglycemia interesting, since i have really bade shakes often and extreme levels of nervousness and anxiety at times.
I would like to know if this is the case for you guys aswell?

Continuing from last post:
As said already it happens to me when i focus, usually after studying for a while or taking a test.
I have one more question? Do you guys feel really stressed on a regular basis?

I asked my son, he doesn't think stress is a factor. He experiences the "fast feeling" often during tests, but tests are not stressful for him. He is very smart and in the gifted program at school. Is that a possible connection with anyone else? High IQ, I mean?
Do any of you have ADD/ADHD? Trouble focusing or concentrating other times than during an "episode"?
What about the "dream" that many talk about? My son (16) had the dream as a young child. He would wake up and vomit from the fear. He could never describe the dream, though. This all started while he was sick and had a high fever. He woke up, possibly in the midst of the dream, and was talking about seeing things in the room. It was creepy. He was terrified and was seeing things that were not there.
Does any of that sound familiar to any of you?

Yes, i´ve hallucinated after a dream several times. Two times last year actually! Seems to be related...

Up to see if anyone has had this happen! I don't think it's anything to worry about it's just a very weird experience that starts
To feel kinda scary when you can't get rid of it. Mine usually last 1-5 minutes. Too weird.

Oh my god... It's happening to me right now as I'm typing this. That's why I googled it. It also happened to me when I was younger a lot. I'm 16 now.

I believe its a type indivisual spontaneous eveloution, Most mental docots would tell you that you have ADD or ADHD. You are special because your able to recognize it. Each one of you will probably be used in making the world a better place, be careful becaue you could be used for the darkside or the light.
