Hello. I am a woman that is 51 years old and after having symptoms like nausea, vomiting and urinating blood I went to a hospital. It turned out that I have kidney stones, uric ones to be exact. They kept me in for the night and told me that I may be requiring surgery. The situation have been stabile, and I was thinking of trying something else first before going under the knife. Some ideas?

I heard of a home remedy that helps with kidney stones. You mix olive oil and lemon juice at the first sign of symptom. The stones usually pass after a while. But you don't have necessarily to go under the knife. There is a procedure called extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL), which is a shockwave therapy. It is highly effective. They break the stone in little pieces with it, and they pass after a while.

The last reply is correct. Olive oil and lemon juice will help greatly. I was drinking about 1\3 cup of oil and at least 2 tablespoons od lemon juice. You can also drink Orange juice, lemonade, etc. You are probably eating a lot of meat and cheese. Uric stones are common results of this.
Make sure you hydrate constantly. cranberry juice is also helpful. Ask to do a 24 hour urine study and also have a scan done to determine the number and size of the stones. The sonic treatment mentioned in the last post is exactly correct. Good Luck and feel better soon.
