I've had a UTI that is unresponsive to two types of antibiotics, so far. I am on day four of the current antibiotics (auro cefixime). Last Wednesday, I went into a walk-in to determine if I had a UTI and the urinalysis showed blood cells and white blood cells in the urine, this was not sent to the lab unfortunately. It should be noted that I never had the typical symptoms of a UTI such as stinging to pee etc. Just menstraul-type cramps, swelling- feeling in the pelvic region and IBS type symptoms for about three weeks prior to that initial visit. By Saturday, I started to feel unwell and went back to the walk-in. My urine still showed I had a UTI so I was given a different antibiotic. I've had a low-grade fever (100.5) for the last five days and general feeling of aches and flu like symptoms. Strangely, tylenol and/or advil do not seem to touch this fever. It doesn't get higher but medication does not help it lower. Today, I went back and did another urinalysis and my urine is still showing a lot of white blood cells. Also, the lab work based on the last urine test did not test positive for any bacteria. I still have a fever and feel quite unwell. I was told to see my family doctor but when I just called her office, I was told I cannot be seen until mid-December. Not really sure what I should do as this new antibiotic does not seem to be working at all.
