One week ago I underwent a vaginal hysterectomy procedure. I am still having a lot of vaginal discomfort. Not pain exactly, but there is a consciousness of my vagina at all times during the day and night. It feels dry, slightly painful, irritated, and I find it hard to sit down and also to walk around. Is this normal following such a procedure ? I had not ever given birth vaginally before.

Ofcourse
a vaginal hystestomy means that the uterus was taken from the vagina which means there is a cut in the vagina and that needs to be healed
with any surgery you may have pain and you are doing quiet well with just having discomfort , you had a major surety with minimal amount of pain.
Good fir your doctor
