I am 36 years of age. For a long time, I've been suffering from heavy bleedings and I have both back and pelvic problems.
I was diagnosed with Endometriosis. My mother has a breast cancer, so my doctor recommended me to do hysterectomy. I would like to know something more about the operation itself. Is hysterectomy at the age 36 dangerous?

Hysterectomy at the age 36 is performed only if necessary. During this procedure, uterus is removed. There are several types of this operation. Most often is so called total abdominal hysterectomia - body and cervix of uterus are removed. If there is a cancer involved, local lymphatic nodes are removed also. There is a subtotal hysterectomy, in which cervix is untouched, vaginal h. - uterus is pulled out through the vagina etc. All of these procedures are very efficient, so you need not to worry.
