this sounds like you may have trichomoniasis it's a live viral infection that is sexually transmitted...if the area burns/itches worse when you get wet in any way that's what it is you NEED to see a doctor immediately!

Hey I had some of the same symptoms and I went to the doctor to get a paps test only to find out that my ex gave me an STD called Trichomoniasis (hope I spelt it correctly). However, it is an annoying feeling and you should go check it out so both of you guys can be treated.

Im a RN and see patients come in everyday for same problem. The truth is there are many reasons for ichy genitals. Some can be as simple as using a soap to strong for you that may contain a fragrance while others can be infections and disease. The best thing to do is make an appointment to see your doctor even if there is no sign of discharge. You should never diagnose youself because taking the wrong medication can make your problem worse. You should also try using intimate wipes instead of tissue after using the bathroom because tissue can irritate it more. And if your not washing after sex its probably a good time to start. GOOD LUCK LADIES! :-D

Hi, I'm 17 years old. This is the first time I've ever posted anything like this, but I'm going to go ahead and do it. I've been sexually active for 3 years now, and been with a few different guys (no judgements please.) I got a yeast infection a few months ago, and I've been clean of STD's. But since I had that yeast infection, I've been taking some medicated gel my doctor prescribed me. Well, now my clitoris has been getting red and inflamed. It itches, super bad. All the time. It's also EXTREMELY dry. I tried putting some external Monistat gel on it, and it soothes it for a little bit, but the itching always comes back worse. :-( This has happened several times since the yeast infection, but I don't know what to do about it! I'm too embarassed to tell my mom about it. And I'm not even sure I can legally see a doctor by myself until I'm 18.
Would it be caused by um.. a male playing with my clitoris during sexual encounters?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks for your time.

OMG Im having the same problem and I feel like im gonna go crazy. I did some research because I can't see my gyno until wednesday. but it could be a few things. a yeast infection. std (such as trich). or just bacteria imbalance. i have been on antibiotics for the past few months and i'm thinking that it cleared out the bacteria which prevents yeast from growing. i hope that's all it is anyway. idk what i can do to ease the itching though. all the monistat creams are for external use only except for monistat 1 3 and 7 but i read on their website that you shouldn't use those creams prior to going to see ur doctor becuz it could mess up the diagnosis. i have a gel set on my nails so it's difficult to scratch without stabbing myself lol. im so anxious for this appointment so i can get some type of comfort

ALL you ladies need to stop being scared or embarrassed of going to see a doctor. Believe me, doctors have seen it all and worse. If its a simple bacterial infection, its more common than you think. If you wait around reading forums or google-ing in order to self diagnose yourself, your could be getting worse by the day. Planned parenthood is open Mon-Sat and its 100% confidential even for those under age. Don't let your problem get worse, you don't want it to spread and then cause a really bad odor coming from your vagina. Take action ladies, this is your health, your future ability to have children as well. I.ve been there before. I've had chlamydia, uti's, and a very foul smelling bacterial infection inside my vagina. But I got over the fear and saw a doctor. Good luck ladies!

To all you ladies that have these itchy problems and have not found any relief thus far.........I have found the one thing that has helped with the terrible itchy scrotum and clitoris....first of all have yourself tested that you do not have any transmitted sexual diseases of any kind....if the dr says there is nothing of the sort and just gives you ointments and creams to put on.....which makes it worse, not better......then this is what you can do to get instant relieve from the itching.......

Get yourself first of all a liquid soap from your nearest chemist or supermarket..(the supermarket is usually cheaper than the chemists)it is called...LACTACYD...feminine hygiene. and a an ointment called MAXADERM..wash yourself with the liquid soup with your hands around your private parts.......after the bath just dab yourself slightly...DO NOT RUB...THAT WORSENS IT AND THE SKIN IS WET AND BRUISES EASILY.....which causes more burning and itching.....after dabbing your private parts then take some MAXADERM OINTMENT and put a squirt on your finger and put it inside your vagina then take Johnsons and Johnsons plain baby powder, pour some in your hands and then pat it on and around your clitoris and the entrance to your vigina and also around your scrotum.......this will give instant relief to the itching......if you have a discharge..do not worry as the powder collects the discharge and protects your skin against the discharge thus no more itching and burning.......do this everytime you feel it starts itching and burning....also wash yourself with the above mentioned soup everytime you have been to the toilet.....dab on powder anytime you feel the itch comming on....this you do for up to a week and the problem will start disappearing.........the powder definately gives relief to the itching and burning......if you need to have this powder and soap then let me know and I will get it for you and post it to you...It is definately worth it.........

I would love to hear from you ladies if this solved the itching problem for you too...

Alrite so I googled itching clitoris and found this forum for it and obviously if you look and see how many girls/woman are having the same problem it must be a somewhat common thing within our gender...Whether having sex or not our vaginas are organs outside of the body soo they are prone to more types of issues then others...Lucky us...But anyways for everyone thats freaking out just look at all of us who are having the same problem... It must just be an inflamation of some sort...wash ur hands before rubbing it tho! or thatll just be more bacteria adding to the problem!

I've searched the internet day and night trying to figure out what this is because it's driving me insane! It itches like nothing I've ever felt :'( , it does seem to come close to when I'm about to start. The only thing that does seem to help is showering (alot) the itching is both inside and out and inflamed. I've thought of as many things as I could to try an figure this out thanks to I can try a few new things. ;-)

Dear all....I have had the same problem for 3 months and NOTHING that the drs gave me worked, no anibiotics or creams or soaps...not even plain yogurt worked anymore. I couldnt sleep, sit or walk, I screamed and cried when the itching was at its worst after I had a bath. Then out of desperation I tried something very different and what do you know. within minutes of using it the itching and burning stopped and I could sleep for the first time in 3 months....I noticed that when I bathed it felt a little better until you dry yourself off and think it is better.  Then the buring starts slowly then the itching starts a little here and there and then within the hour the itching is at its worst and the more you scratch the more it iched and the more it itched the more you scratched, It became a very vicious cycle.....
It took me about 1 month for all the itching, burning and swelling to go away and everything returing to normal again.....As long as I used my stuff it didnt flame up.. So I made sure that after I showered (NOT BATHED) I would put it on immediately and it wouldnt become itchy and inflamed.....
The secret is: DONT BATH...ONLY SHOWER,,,,,DO NOT USE ORDINARY SOAP...... USE LACTACYD LIQUID SOAP......you buy that at the pharmacy or your Dr must tell you were to get it. THis is the only soap you may use on your private parts. NO OTHER SOAP....DO NOT rub yourself dry with a towel but use your face cloth and just dab lightly.......then you get yourself some JOHNSONS PLAIN BABY POWDER AND SPRINKLE ON YOUR CLITORIS, VAGINA AND ANUS. I guarentee that this is the only powder or remedy that works within a few  minutes. You can put powder on as many times a day as you wish or if the itching starts up.....ther is nothimng harmful about it..... It was unbelievable, but it worked. It will work for you too.....DO NOT HAVE SEX until you are completely cured......as this can make you start itching all over again before you are healed......after that it is fine. It takes about a month to heal completely. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPED YOU AS WELL.
