I’ve started having breathing difficulties, like choking and wheezing. I do not have sore throat and these symptoms are not in connection with allergic reaction. I’ve heard that throat closure occurs in condition called vocal chord dysfunction. Maybe I suffer that. Please tell me more about VCD. Thanks in advance.

Vocal cord dysfunction causes these symptoms that you described. Throat closure, wheezing, breathing difficulties and choking sensation are the common symptoms.
VCD sometimes can mimic asthma, but there is differential exam s that is done for diagnostic. Cause of VCD is unknown, but usually conditions like GERD, postnasal drip, or some environmental conditions are responsible for its development.
