Weight gain after tonsillectomy?

Noooo......I don't want weight GAIN! I want weight LOSS!

Maybe it IS your meds. Or your body trying to make up for the stress of surgery? I'd ask your doctor. %-)

I read that weight gain is linked to tonsillectomy in children, but I didn't read about it in adults. My friend told me that two of her friends + her brother gained weight after tonsillectomy (they are adults). I have a doctor's appointment next Sunday and I really don't want to gain weight, I might cancel the whole thing just for that! I really would appreciate it if someone who had tonsillectomy would tell us if that is true, and how much weight?

I had my tonsillectomy in late december, and it is now early march. two weeks after the surgery, i lost a substantial amount of weight for my size. (about ten pounds). now, three months later, i have been eating normally and healthy. but i have been gaining weight quickly. i dont know what it is from, but i wish i stayed somewhat close to how i looked right after!!
