DON'T stay on the sub long!!!!! To anyone reading this that has just started suboxone, use this drug roughly as long as your withdrawal symptoms would last plus a couple of weeks, somewhere between 20 and 45 days. Unless you want to use this for the rest of your life, and for some that's a better option than going back and forth between dope, methadone, and Hell and never having any stability. But if you're looking to get clean, this what I would recommend: First try to get a Dr. that's not a f---ing id**t and is willing to give you other meds to help you make the transition from suboxone to nothing. After a week or so on whatever dosage you were prescribed ( start tapering down dramatically, you'll be surprised how quickly you can cut your dose with no change in the way you feel. Get down to about 1mg or less, and then be sure you have a fair amount of your preferred sort of benzodiezpine, ambein, (or whatever sleep stuff works for you) and try not to use any these drugs regularly for more than about 30 days. I also reccomend starting on an anti depressant at the beginning of all this. Good luck!

I'm sure you've discovered by now that the Suboxone withdrawal is NOT as bad as the pill withdrawal.

Hi. Ambien is similar to a benzo so be careful with it. Stopping suddenly is dangerous after being on it more than 2 weeks. Just FYI

It will work better in one dose of 8mg in the morning. You feel better but still shitty for a few days then bamm you feel great. Depends on size of habit etc but one dose thats big is better than doing half and half

I take Trazedone to help me sleep. I have been taking Suboxone for one year now, and the whole time I have been taking it, I have also been taking Trazedone andCelexa (for depression) - all prescribed by the same psychiatric doctor. All the meds I;m taking work great for me, and I sleep great :)

I just started suboxone and I am not sure why after reading up on all of the people changing medications or addictions. I do know that suboxone is a highly engineered chemical complex with a long, long half life and it reaches the same brain receptors as opiates and alcohol and several other drugs.

So, after taking methodone for years for pain and to check diarrhea that would have been a hard withdrawal for me. My doctor gave me norco to take for 10 to 12 days to get the main part of methadone out of my system which is a long acting opiate with a long half life and the norco is short life. I followed instructions except I did not start out with 16mgs a day suboxone as prescribed. I started with the recommended 2mgs, waited for two hours and then found I could comfortably go 12 hrs before withdrawal symptoms began. However, after a day and a half I tried 2mgs for 24 hours and not too bad and then noticed slightly stronger withdrawal sysmptoms.

Now, I haven't slept well for years as far as real sleep. I have sleep apnea ..... But although I converted to vegetarianism 3 years ago, I have been reading on diets.... to see what is available through food intake that might help with sleep.

Here is part of what I have found knowing and understanding our bodies are depleted of natural endorphins and hormones from taking opiates. Once the opiates are gone, it takes time but our bodies will begin to produce what we need. In the meantime, I don't want to start adding to a problem so I am going to try foods.

Proteins from the food we eat are the building blocks of tryptophanTryptophan, which is why the best bedtime snack is one that contains both a carbohydrate and protein:
Cereal with milk, peanut butter on toast, or cheese and crackers. Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone that regulates sleepiness.

I will pray for us all in hopes that we all can see the day as beautiful as intended without the need of anything man made in our blood. God Bless you all and I will return after some tasty experimentation. Tim

I second this. Doctors are idiots and don't know how strong subs are. I was doing a gram of dope a day for years and when I finally got on subs, I tapered down from an initial dose of 8mgs, only using about 3 strips total as well. The key is to only dose as needed and cut down each time. Once done, I did use tramadols for a few days to help then went to nothing. Had insomnia and the sh**s for quite a while after so I also had to use supplemental items like benadryl, Nyquil, and Imodium for those side effects. There's no way of dodging withdrawal even with a really good taper but you can minimize the symptoms like I did by not falling into the high dose suboxone trap just because of your doctor's prescription.
