This is such an old post, I am no doctor, and you found your favorite answer. Still, look into Ceeliac disease. I have been living with your symptoms for 20 years, on an extremely low fat diet (gallbladder and kidney stone issues). Celiac and gluten intolerance can cause your symptoms. If not addressed, you will, eventually, no longer be able to gain nutrients from your diet. Take care of yourself.

Thanks for this blog. After reading the comments here, i was relieved that this was just temporary. This also happened to me two days ago after eating gindara fish for 2 meals. I pooped twice with oil in 2 days. But now it's normal again.

I had escolar fish a day and the orange oil just gone the 3rd. After encounter this problem, I stopped taking any oily cooking stuff and consumed only warm lemon juices with 1 tbsp olive oil with empty stomach in the morning , yogurt with soaked chia seed, some chinese tea. Bravo, its gone the 3rd day and the stool was normal without any foul smell and really feel lighter after passing.

I’ve had the orange/oily issue a few times in my life....always in conjunction with an antibiotic (usually Bactrim). When the antibiotic is out of my system, everything goes back to normal.

OMG I have experienced the same thing today. Like seriously, this happened to me about twice this year; November and today. The thing I remember the most is that I ate fish a lot during those times and today, as breakfast for the morning, I ate rice and fried sardines with tausi and OMG I was so shookt when I took a dump this evening. I was like, "OMG My poop looks colorful today. Wait... why is that orange? OMG am I gonna die? How did it come back?". So that's why I Googled it and I was so shocked what the internet told me. Ranging from infections, diseases, diet changes, and even organ failure, I was so shookt! LOL then I saw this ans was like, "Oh, it's just extra fat." Then I was like, OMG so you mean to say I ate more fat than normal? OMG I should go on a diet so I won't get fat and so this won't happen again. Say no to eating fish. They like, have a family. So yeah, not eating fish for a long while now. :)

The fish that you ate was most likely escolar or snake mackerel which can be discuised as other fish but it leaves you with severe issues

There is a presence of oil droplets in my stool. Which blood tests I need to do to determine the cause of it? Is it from the pancreas or from the gall bladder?

Had this exact same thing happen today. Ate about 10 servings of salted cashews. Based on what I'm reading, that would explain it.

Great! Here's hoping that kind of blast stays in the past, for everyone! When mine occurred my dog, who is always at my side, heard the noise and instantly had a look on her face that said "You better go check on THAT!" Boy was she right....
