If you can find it, get a little travel size can of Evian to spray on your face every half hour or so. Planes are very drying.
Tapes or CDs and something to play them on.
Snacks.
Water.
I don't like to fly so I usually have a drink before I get on. I've been known to bring a beer or two with me, but I'll bet they'd have to be in cans to do that now.
Magazine or book.
I also find that I'm inclined to doze. It's not that I'm all that tired, there's just something about the process, the air, whatever, that makes me sleepy.
One last tip is this: if you see a blanket or pillow when you get on the plane, grab it. By the time you figure out you want one later, they'll be all gone.

They let you bring beer on planes?
I was wondering this as well. Would bringing an iced down cooler full of beer be too much?

You learn something new every day.
I didn't think you could bring beer on a plane, either.

In my carry-on, I always have a change of clothes, including undies and some bottled water and Luna or Cliff bars since I munch a lot.
DO NOT, no matter what, carry a corkscrew. We missed a flight once because someone had one in their briefcase. And security does not (at least in Columbus) page the terminal so you have no clue where that person is and they won't hold flights. It was really quite annoying. They could at least page or call and tell you they've got the person when the announcement comes over the terminal that the airline is looking for them. What the hell is a little grey-haired guy with a Sonoma-Coutre corkscrew going to do?

Well, it's not like I wore my "Beer in my carry-on" shirt but I think once you're past the metal detector, no one cares. Assuming you're not the random one to get your bag checked at the gate, I guess.
Sometimes you can buy beer at the airport, in a little store. (Not here is Regressive-ania of course, but some places.)

You can also now buy a decent vodka in plastic. It's called "Iceberg" and they are called "Traveller's Bottles".

Does anyone know the deal with undeveloped film?
I was asked that both times before checking my luggage in to go on the plane this past weekend and whether I had any? Are you supposed to carry the film on the plane with you? Or do they take it as a safety precaution.
That would stink if I had taken several rolls of film to have it confiscated, ruined or whatnot.
Just curious if anyone knows?

the xray machine will expose the film thus ruining it. :|
If you check the film, the x-ray machine will ruin it. If you run it through the carry-on scanner, you should be fine. Unless you go through more then 8 scanners. That's what I have heard.
I've never had the x-ray machine damage film.
Oh, don't carry very fast film, keep it under 1600asa (I think 800 maybe borderline).

I say have a ball, take everything in stride. Expect bad service at the airport, so when you get good service you'll be pleasantly surprised.
You might want to wear easy on/off shoes.
Above all, enjoy yourself, and have some fun for me. :wavey:
