I am a casual rider. Don’t get me wrong. I like to ride, but didn’t seem to find enough time for a sensible workouts. I want to get more serious and start cycling properly. I wonder what the maximum cycling distance per day is. How hard should I train? I don’t want to overdo it.

You are the only person that knows how fit you are. Don’t jump on a 30+ mile per day workout if you don’t regularly ride a bike. As for the speed, most beginners reach 8 mph while more experienced riders can go up to 12 mph. So a 25 mile ride will take approximately 3 hours. Never push up to your limit. If you want to try harder cycling you can safely go up to 80 miles a day.
