I am hoping this is a safe place to talk about schizophrenia and its horrible effect on peoples' lives. My brother has had schizophrenia for as long as I can remember, and has episodes on and off - sometimes one after the other, and other times, years can pass between episodes. I am pretty sure I am battling schizophrenia myself now. I hear voices. So what is the prognosis if schizophrenia came suddenly?

We can't tell you. What we can tell you is that if you are hearing voices, you need to get yourself to a psychiatrist as soon as you can. Now, you still have your hallucinations under control and you are aware that you are delusional. As you must already know, you will totally lose control if you do not get help as soon as you can.
