When I masturbate I am not able to ejaculate using only my hands

Hi there, I’m an 18-year-old male and I’m having issues with ejaculation. When I masturbate I am not able to ejaculate using only my hands, I get an erection but in order to ejaculate I need to use a pillow, a bunch of clothes etc. and grind against it. I can get hard using my hands but I can never ejaculate. Also, I’ve only recently had sex for the first time and during it I was not able to ejaculate. Has my odd way of masturbation led to an issue with ejaculation? Thanks for your help
