to the person having sex with several people and now your vagina has an odor..... the odor probably came from switching partners frequently which caused an unbalanced level of bacteria in the vagina. This is called bacteria vaginosis and you have to go to the doctor and get checked as well as prescribed medication. its not a serious infection but the odor can be embarassing so you might want to make a appt asap. I hope this helps!

I've been dealing with the exact same thing for a few months as well and I found this explanation on another website.. ***edited by moderator*** web addresses not allowed
"Clear, odorless discharge that is of normal pH and with normal vaginal flora and negative cultures is a physiologic rather than an infectious discharge. For some reason the cervical glands are putting out excessive amounts of secretions. The two most common causes are increased estrogens and allergic reactions.

Estrogen cream inside the vagina seems to me will only increase the amount of discharge. Just use a small amount on the outside of the vagina, on the vulva where it itches, or have your physician give you a mild steroid cream, not estrogen containing. If you can go without cream on the outside, that would be better. A vaseline based ointment lightly applied should help the irritation from a non-infected discharge. It only irritates the vulva because the secretions are slightly acid.

As far as allergic reaction goes, you have to be your own detective. We have seen reactions to foams, gels, condom lubricants, etc. If you avoid anything intravaginal for 3-4 weeks and see a decrease in amount, then its cause is likely due to an intravaginal irritant.

Make sure you don't have extra estrogens in your diet (extra soy products, alfalfa tablets, herbal products etc.)

Finally, remember that if it is just an exaggerated physiologic discharge, it is not harmful to you. It's inconvenience can be controlled by tampons. Eventually it gets better. I have seen this problem persist for months but never for years. Something changes."

Get checked for HPV. Doctors say that people who have HPV whether you have normal or abnormal paps usually will have this type of dischage. It doesnt go away because its the virus that causes it. Make sure you get regular pap smears.

Hi.
I am experiencing the same issues. Excessive discharge varying. Sometimes it's white and thick, other times it's clear and stringy, and every so often it's even bubbly. I am sixteen and had my first sexual encounter a couple months back, i haven't gotten checked by a gyno but i am starting to fear that i have caught something. I have good hygeine, i shower daily, and pay extra attention to make sure i thouroughly clean down there, but i still end up having to change my undies at LEAST twice a day. (embarassing) I have also been noticing that it's acting rather strange down there. I will hear a pop or feel the discharge coming out. Recently, i've been queefing! I didn't even know that you could.
Are these symptoms of an STD/STI?

Well, im quite sure i dont have an infection of any sort (Yeast, bacterial, etc.) ive had normal discharge every day for many years now (im 18) but just about 3 weeks ago, the discharge became so excessive that it will soak through my underwear and run down my legs! This happened shortly after my husband left for the army, so i havent been having sex. could that be a reason? i havent changed anything about my daily routines except the no sex. i havent seen a doctor because i dont have health insurance yet. this is so awful, i wish it would stop!! :-(

I have the same problem for about a year now.. me n my boyfriend are sexual active the last time i got checked the doctor told me the discharge was cause by a bacteria called strep B found in some women intestine or vagina it is not a STD jus one of the many problems women come with.... this may be ur reason the only way to confirm is through a culture test done by your gynecologist or primary care doctor.

Hello,

So glad I've happened across this thread...

I, too, have been experiencing an excessive, thickish, clear, odorless discharge that is seemingly constant over the past year (I'm 37 yo, no history of cancer, HPV or STD and it's not Candida - yeast - as I've had that and I KNOW what a yeast infection feels like).

If possible, I would like to direct a question to Frederick R. Jelovsek, MD, or one of his colleagues, as his post offered information that may indeed have solved my problem. Could the allergic reaction you refer to be caused by a shower gel? Specifically, the shower gels that supposedly contain "pheromones." I have bought and used them, not because I think the pheromones WORK, but because I like the scent of the gel. However, I will GLADLY discontinue their use if they are the cause of my problems! :$

Many thanks for the helpful information!

YOU COULD HAVE CLYMIDIA, OR TRICHOMOSIS. SEE A DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. CLYMIDIA IS JUST AS BAD A GONNEREHEA.

I've been having this issue even before i started having sex, prolly some time after i started my period. i'm 16 and this has been a 24/7 thing for prolly about 3-4 years? it's pretty irritating and i having really been able to stop it. i use tampons a couple times a week but i guess that's bad.. it's just white gooey stuff, doesn't smell or itch or anything it's not a big deal, i'd just like it to go away. i've read a majority of this and no one seems to know what can stop it, so yeah. :|

I have this thick white discharge coming out of my body, and it doesn't smell and its not lumpy but its not fully liquidy, and it tastes really nasty. Its been happening for a loong time now. Im not sexually active of you don't include humping my pillow ( i'm only 14 and don't have a bf) when i get aroused. I DON'T get aroused often only once or twice a week. but even when i go to sleep and go to school its there i dont change my underwear 4 or 5 times a day i wear them all day and shower at night but what does that mean ? is something wrong with me ? is there a way my body can clean its self with out getting it on my underwear ? and i really don't wanna ask my doctor because my mom will now somethings up and my cousin works at my doctors office so is there anything i can do?
