I have recently started eating tofu and a friend of mine told me that isoflavones are the key when it comes to tofu. I am now hoping someone can tell me why those isoflavones are so important, and what they mean for your body? Maybe this sounds like a stupid question but I would really like to know.

As a vegetarian, I eat lots and lots of tofu and I have no idea how it is made or what it contains, other than soy beans but that is obvious :-). I don't think you need to know anything about tofu, other than if you want to make your own at home, which is apparently possible but I have personally never attempted it.
