Hello, my friends. I have some hearing problem and I went to a doctor. He suspects on acoustic neuromas, but he will need more tests to confirm it. I am wondering if MRI scan will determine whether I have this type of tumor or not. I will appreciate all your advices.

Hello. MRI scan is great for detecting acoustic neuromas. You can do it even with CT scan, but it cannot detect tumors smaller than 2 cm. MRI scan can do it. It is done with gadolinium enhancement. And MRI is harmless unlike CT. Of course, you should do first audiology and vestibular test before MRI. Consult your ENT specialist. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!

My ENT told me he can tell from a hearing test if there is a tumor present or not. Have you had one yet?
