Would you reach out to a stranger (someone you indirectly know) to offer your help in a time of crisis? Not monitary support. Just advice on something you have knowledge of or firsthand experience on.
Just curious?

I have an apartment for rent in my house. The woman who is leaving found a couple at her church who were looking and not having much luck. Apartments are scarce around here unless you have the money to rent in a new apartment complex. She showed them her apartment and they liked it so they came over and signed the rental agreement 2 weeks ago. I have been waiting for them to come back with some money but haven't seen or heard from them yet. She says she sees them at church and they are very excited about finding the apartment but she texted them and they didn't reply. She needs to have the utilities turned off by the 1st (tomorrow) and they could avoid the turn-on charge by coordinating that with their turn-on. I told them about that but they haven't done it. Tomorrow will tell if I was screwed by trying to help someone. If they don't show I have lost a months rent and need to begin looking for a tenant all over again for next month.

Of course if the person says they are not interested I would cheerefully withdraw.
